This July I was a part of London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama Composition Summer course along with other twelve composers from around the world. Under guidance of Guildhall professors Hollie Harding and Richard Baker we had a brilliant of week of workshops and classes writing for piano and clarinet for brilliant Ben Smith and Heather Rosche.

As part of the course I’ve written a piece titled (reclaimed). Few words for the piece.
Program notes
The central point of reference of the piece presented here is a pitch E. It appears in the opening, is a base for the melody in the “romantic” and “barcarolle” sections and is almost a target point of the final cadence, that couldn’t decide between E and F/E# before it finally lands on both capitulated.
Performance notes
Opening and its fierce reference should be played sharp and full whereas “romantic” and “barcarolle” section should be kept fluent and singing. Murky ending should be driven by left hand and right hand kept at the distance away from chromatic bass line. Total number of repeats for the quasi-cadence at the end is at discretion of the performer.
Below is score-follow video and Ben’s performance of the pience.
